Thomas Rea and Sons

I am a funeral director at Thomas Rea & Sons in Ingleby Barwick. This plaque I am holding, I am donating to the memorial garden at The Hillcare home centre in memory of the people that have passed away.

I use a Nikon FM2. It’s a proper camera which shoots on 35mm film, 36 photos on one roll. I either process my own black & white film or, if it’s colour, I send it off to be processed and can take a few days for the prints to be made and sent back to me. I prefer black & white though, making my own prints in the darkroom.

I have been a blacksmith all my life and have met Salman Rushdie. I work at the Beck Isle museum in Pickering demonstrating and working as a blacksmith.
